TBGA Membership Application
The Thunder Bay Gymnastics Association (TBGA) has endured challenges and celebrated its successes in the
community for over 47 years. TBGA is Thunder Bay’s only not-for-profit organization providing quality
gymnastics instruction within our community. Through our dedicated staff, coaches, and volunteers, we offer
fun, exciting, and unforgettable experiences for youth of all ages.
TBGA’s objectives are:
representation of various skill sets within our Association. You do not need gymnastics experience to be a
member! If you have a skill (marketing, financial, educational, etc.), or if you have a demonstrated commitment
to sport in general, we welcome your interest!

Submission of your application does not guarantee membership. Final decision rests with the Board of Directors. Membership fee of $5 to be paid at the TBGA Office upon Board of Directors approval of application.

- To promote, foster, teach and perpetuate the art and sport of gymnastics and fitness in the community.
- To provide coaching, facilities and equipment for both competitive and recreational programs.
- To administer training clinics for coaches, judges, volunteers and other officials in co-operation with appropriate governing bodies of the Association.
- To develop leadership and promote sportsmanship in its members.
- To promote and make available opportunities for financially disadvantaged children and youth to participate in our programs.

- Share your skills, abilities, and expertise to assist in realizing the vision of TBGA
- Vote at the Annual General Meeting and Semi-Annual General Meeting
- Serve with various Committees (Social Team, Communication Team, Fundraising Team)
- Participate as a community leader giving back to your community and building your portfolio
- Contribute your ideas and make a difference for TBGA athletes
Constitution (May 2015):
- Members must be aged 18 years or older;
- Membership term is one year effective upon Board of Directors approval with opportunity for yearly application submission;
- Staff cannot be a member of the Association nor can staff with children enrolled in programs. This is deemed a conflict of interest;
- A membership in the Association is not transferable and automatically terminates if the Member resigns or such membership is otherwise terminated in accordance with the Act; and,
- Honorary Membership may be bestowed on a person as determined by the Board to recognize long term volunteerism with the Association.
